Privacy policy

What CampFlag is
CampFlag is operated by JumpDaily. CampFlag watches your home while you are away. It reads your home devices, writes one daily summary, sends alerts when something is wrong, and calls people on a contact list you approve.
Google user data we read
If you connect a Google account, CampFlag asks for access to the Smart Device Management API (Google Nest) and, where available, Google Home devices. We read:
- Thermostat temperature, humidity, set point, heating mode and whether the heat is running.
- Device names, rooms and online or offline status.
- Camera and doorbell events and snapshots, only if you turn cameras on.
We do not read your Gmail, contacts, calendar, location history or any other Google data. We never change your thermostat unless you ask us to in the app.
How we use it
- To show your home's state in the app and write your daily summary.
- To detect problems such as no heat, freezing rooms or a device going offline, and alert you.
- To estimate heating oil use from how long the heat runs.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train general artificial intelligence models. People do not read it, except with your permission, for security, or where the law requires.
CampFlag's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where it is stored
Readings are stored on your own CampFlag hub at home, and in encrypted form on our servers so the app works when you are away. Google access tokens are encrypted and never shown in the app or in logs.
Who we share it with
Only the people on your approved call list, and only the message about the problem (for example, "No heat at your neighbor's house, 51°F"). Service providers that host our servers process data for us under contract. We never sell data.
Keeping and deleting it
We keep readings for 13 months so you can compare seasons, then delete them. You can disconnect Google at any time in the app or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting your account removes your data from our servers within 30 days.
Other devices
Data from IKEA and Tapo devices is handled the same way.
Children
CampFlag is not for children under 13.
